Posted October 18, 2009. I took a quick look and it looks like a good easy fix. The only thing I don't like is relocating the sensor to a different spot then the ECM is calibrated for. It will read slightly different then the stock position and may or may not be more or less sensitive to knocking., Knock sensor location is right underneath the intake manifold. You will have to take my manifold and fuel rail off. Then remove the intake manifold and it's right in the middle of the pistons . Replace the intake manifold gasket. This is a 2.4 hours job. let me know if you have further questions., V6 3.3L The sensor is located underneath the air intake manifold on top of the engine block. If it is then it pushes out setting the cam physically. Now unless the thermal actuator is stuck then you may have an issue. When the coolant cools the actuator will retreat back in. When your truck is cold the actuator will be in and you will set the idle higher.
