Yeah 8 psi to way to low. There are three things I have seen cause this. The first is the relief valve in the oil filter base gets worn and begins to stick open. When this happens the oil pressure will drop. To correct, both the valve and filter base housing must be replaced. Second is a faulty or weak pump.
