Power band on a 2 stroke

Hi, I have a 40 hp 2 stroke Suzuki, the last time it was on the water it ran good, full power, for about 2 hours, then it started making this chirping sound almost like a backfire or something. Brought it home now it will on fire one time it will start and immediately die. Let it sit for a couple hours then it will do the same thing.
