The Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation serves Haywood, Madison, Tipton, Chester, Fayette, Henderson, Hardeman, Lauderdale and Crockett counties in West Tennessee. Incorporated in 1936, STEMC today has more than 49,000 business and residential members and maintains nearly 4,000 miles of transmission line.

RATES. All energy purchased by STEMC members is generated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. TVA utilizes a Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) mechanism to recover largely uncontrollable fuel and purchased power costs. A variety of factors affect these costs including weather and global supply and demand issues. The TVA FCA is adjusted monthly.
