But I liked the feel of the Springfield EMP 9mm much better than the Kimber Aegis 9mm. It fits my hand much better since I have a small hands. The primary thing I think was they reduced the amount of the carry melt treatment a little. The basic difference between Series II and pre-series II (like yours) is the Series II guns have a Swartz firing pin safety. Also the Colt/Talo Commander has a normal guide rod and plug so field stripping is traditional. I think if I wanted to carry a little 1911 again I would look at the ones Ruger recently introduced.The thickness of the single stack grip as opposed to a Warthog's double stack grip retains the handling/concealment/feel qualities which contribute greatly to the ergonomic reasons we love the 1911.
