Wiring a ceiling fan

Dec 31, 2010 · Wiring a ceiling fan in a 1950's house. A month or so ago we took down a ceiling fan in a spare bedroom to paint the walls and ceiling. The smart thing to do would have been to mark which wires from the ceiling went to which on the fan, but I wasn't thinking about that at the time. So now that I want to put the fan back up, I'm stuck guessing.
