2-20-17 Kabetogama-Namakan-Ash River Fishing Report WOW-quite the weather, 58 degrees, 53 degrees and high 40’s in February, weather records were shattered here near the Canadian border. Fortunately for us winter enthusiasts we still have 12” of snow base and a safe ice road as of the close of today.Today, we use 300 horse-power motors on 20+ foot boats, moving around miles of waterways to explore and fish these same waters. As a guide, my goal is to teach you about how to get more fish in your boat. We talk about seasonal patterns, a variety of methods to catch fish, water temperatures, wind direction, structure, and more.When prime time did arrive, the walleye did get active and followed classic feeding patterns. We fished structure like underwater points and submerged rock reefs, typically in water depths of 28 to 32 feet. Walleye ranged in size from 10 to 24 inches and every size in between.
