One trick I use (and suggest) for things like this is to cut out a section (such as one section of an overhanging clip on your model) and do a test print of that to see how it works without support material. I have yet to play with the organic supports. We shall see. I guess my bad joke didn’t land 😅. Very, very exited for both the supports and the measurement tool. If you want long term support (10+ years), reliability and want something that you might need to modify easily in terms of software, stick with C++ (Prusa slicer). You can adjust the brim of the support by increasing the "first layer expansion" setting from 3mm to (I use) 7mm. I found a way to make my boat float off the buildplate! Took a lot of finessing, but I did it. I made my object a modifier so it could float above the placeholder object. The placeholder object must be printed in some way though, so I left it poking out:, I used it with an ender 3 V2 which I promptly had to return becuase its a shit machine.
